Art is a way to express myself and my emotions. Painting is a form of freedom, as what I paint comes from my imagination. The feeling of losing myself in the creation of something on a canvas is one of the best in the world.

I have always been fascinated by color. Everything that I look at I want to paint with as much vibrancy as I can. Whether Iā€™m painting with watercolor, acrylic or oil paint, color is a way for me to express what art is a physical representation of: emotion. Art is meant to make people feel something, to react and see the world through a slightly different lens.

In this piece I try to show the beauty of clouds after rain. California has been experiencing a series of severe droughts due to climate change, and every time it rains it feels like a blessing. These past few months after every shower, I would look up and see these towering, luminous clouds rolling across the sky, filled with color and light. These clouds hold a special place in my heart, and I recreated them in this painting from my mind's eye, filling them with color to show how beautiful and important they are.
