I connect sitting in a car at night with loneliness. The silence can sometimes become overbearing over a long period of time. Even with people you care about surrounding you, like my parents, overthinking can quickly take over and drown out my surroundings. With this piece, I hoped to capture the feeling of

uneasiness that I often have found over the years in many spaces, especially during car rides. I intentionally made the bottom corners and the sides mainly dark in order to create the feeling of losing my sense of surroundings. Even though most of the piece is painted in dark colors, the shapes and colors through the windshield stand out more, but at the same time draw attention to the inside of the car by using vibrant highlight colors to draw attention to the people inside the car.
