My name is Isabel. I’m a 17-year-old Mexican American teenager from Greenfield, California. My work primarily comes from the inspiration I get from Mother Nature. The process of color mixing becoming an art piece is exhilarating for me — it opens up an unlimited amount of possibilities.
The medium is an essential ruling to achieve in order to express the most clarity in my art. That would be: color pencil, charcoal, and watercolor. On the other hand, acrylic paint plays a big role in my path to creating a piece of art that may not be as “clear” to viewers as the other mediums I use.
This piece was from a camera capture I took while out hiking Mount Tamalpais in Marin County with my sister. It especially captured my attention because it’s a new perspective I hadn’t worked with before. While looking up at the high redwood trees I instantly thought to recreate it with my talent allowing me to try something new.
