Once I heard about this program, For the Love of Art, I was excited. My mind was racing with ideas about what I should make, figuring out if the idea was worth it. At first, I went for a kaprosuchus. I sketched it out, adding in the details. When I stepped back, I started to doubt myself, thinking that it wasn't good enough. So I changed it to the same kaprosuchus but in water. It didn't work at all. So I changed it to a lost kid within a raging wildfire. Again, it didn't work. So now, how about a bird flying? Nope. A landscape. Nope. A kid with large teeth that looked like it was being tortured... nope. I tried over and over again but nothing worked for me, until I landed on a design that for me was not really exciting. It's just a human face looking at you. But an idea popped up in my head: what if I make the left side of the face shatter into pieces like glass? Later on, I used a green colored pencil to make the normal side of the face. Yet something was missing. I asked my teacher for some help and she suggested I make the hair from pencil shavings. Once she told me that my mind raced again. A feather pen as the eyebrow, pencils, and erasers as the teeth. Once I stepped back, I loved it! I'm proud to call it my masterpiece. And I hope someday I can do it again.
