My piece represents my appreciation for art and women. Growing up it was predominantly women in my home. My mother taught me a woman is one of the most powerful things in the world.
I use my artistry as a self expression. My anger, sadness, and happiness fuel my creativity.
My previous work is mostly in graphite or watercolors. I love graphite because if you feel you’ve made a mistake, you can simply erase it or even shade over it. Watercolor is also a favorite becauseit makes me feel calm and you can create anything you want even if that’s not what you intended in the first place.
Art is a necessity for me; it’s one of the only ways I feel I can express myself. I grew up with art all
around me in different ways - if that were to be a sculpture or a painting or even a sketch. Art is a part of me and a part of my life.
