I find joy in creating art around moments in my life that I feel made something clear. This one shows a realization that individuals and the things they create are not permanent. Whether people make their mark on the world through art, their relationships with others, or through more measurable successes, we all leave just a simple mark on history. I find this to be very comforting. The exploitation of our natural resources can be reversed, we can stop these destructive habits, and allow recovery.

This painting shows the CEMEX Lapis Industrial Sand plant in Marina. It sits contrasted with the vast and beautiful Monterey Bay.
