I’m Guo Chen. I believe that art is the artists’ own inner reactions, their interpretation of emotions and thoughts. I like to paint with bright, high contrast colors and use mysterious and whimsical subjects. I consider non-realistic themes to be an expression of my inner world, free from the constraints and worries of the real world, entering a world of whimsy.

For this painting I used high contrast cool and warm colors to express my strong inner feelings. The look on the human face and the outwardly open hands send an invitation to the person looking at the painting to experience the infinite possibilities and beauty of the dream together. Let the audience join him in forgetting their worries for a while, enjoying a moment of pleasure and the freedom to be themselves. Nowadays all people in the society are under a lot of pressure, competition, school, work and so on are the reasons for people’s pressure. I hope that not only for myself, but for all who see this painting, they can get a moment of freedom and relaxation while viewing it, and go with their thoughts.

The painting is more like an invitation to a spiritual world, a yearning for a dream world.
