Junior
As a junior in high school, I’ve been challenged. Throughout the past 3 years my art teachers pushed me. They helped me become the artist I am today. I create pieces for the accomplishment. I love to see what becomes of an unfinished piece. When I was smaller, I wanted to study the Arts, and I still do. As I get older and become more comfortable with my style of work that passion has only grown.
When producing art, I usually go for what feels comfortable most. I used acrylic paint for this whole piece. At first, I was going to paint birds just for my admiration of birds. I knew I had to paint this little bird house when I saw it.
This piece is right from my grandmother's backyard. As a child I would be picked up by my grandma from school while my mother was at work. Her backyard is full of trees, fruit, plants and flowers. Along with these there were figures, a flock of bird houses. They were toys to me. Now that I've grown, I can see my little cousins and relatives play. They show the same creativity I felt when I was a child, while having their grandmother close.
