Wild Blue by John Mayer inspired my art piece. On the surface, the song is simple and groovy. But the lyrics and complex structure along with a rhythmic and airy drum track provide a soundscape that envelopes the audience into a world Mayer wants them to hear. My visual interpretation of that place has many variations, this is the most realistic rendition I felt was possible. A mix of both space and the ocean compliment each other in an unorthodox fashion. The fish represent the people who don’t necessarily understand, but who listen openly and enjoy the sound. The planets represent the places people come from to where they go when they hear music.
