For me, I love creating art for the sake of creating art. I find that a lot of my enjoyment in creating stems from a place of just having fun with the process, and the surprise of where the piece ends up. Much of my work derives from rapid moments of inspiration, and so I often end up with pictures of various places, drawings, or colors that I’ve taken on my phone. A lot of my inspiration draws from sound, water, ice, and rain. I love these things, so I often try and convey them in one way or another into my work.

I like to work primarily in digital mediums, using programs like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Blender to create my work. Though recently, I have been experimenting with the mix of traditional mediums, like oil, attempting to translate/mix the effect of my digital work through it.

This piece is called Verglas String. I wanted to experiment with the idea of light, and how it falls on the surface of the paint. I tried many ideas and had found that by layering a clear surface of acrylic over the top of the paint I could, from certain angles, create shadows that almost look like rain on glass. From some angles the design of the acrylic is almost invisible, but still creates a shadow, and from other angles it is fully visible. I aimed for the piece to evoke a certain feeling of sound; you can almost feel the thin strings of wind and frost.
