I have always been fascinated by art since a young age. My art journey began at the age of five. It started with drawings, eventually working my way up to watercolor and acrylic paintings.

My inspiration for this painting of a hummingbird surrounded by flowers was my grandmother. Her love for hummingbirds and flowers was well-known. When I look at hummingbirds in my yard I’m reminded of her. In painting this hummingbird I hope another person will look at it and admire this hummingbird just as much as she did. I attempted to capture its beauty with the help of acrylic paint and colored pencils to showcase its colorful persona.

At the start of my creation I was scared of not being a good enough painter. Usually I only draw with the help of my pencils. This helped push me to work harder and I feel that I have improved my painting skills since I started.
