My piece is about stepping out of my comfort zone and trying to push myself. I choose a medium and a subject I'm not used to, drawing. The subject is Lover’s Point, which I've been going to since I was young. The ocean is one of my favorite places with an open sky, a warm embrace and the cool water hitting your feet. I have always found the ocean to be one of the most beautiful and mysterious places.

The painting taught me a lot about my relationship with art and my work ethic. I've spent so much time worrying about what was the thing I wanted, but not the place or things that brought me back to that moment in time.
