Curiosity can lead people to risky situations. The Guardian represents how people will sometimes seek the easy way out of hardship without considering the dangers or consequences of their actions. A witch ventures out into the deep of the forest, lured into a cave by glowing flowers without much thought of the gloomy surroundings. She acts only on her appetite for wisdom. Ravens are creatures known for their insight, intelligence and for being in tune with nature; in this case a guardian of the cave, wary of imminent threats, persuading others in hopes to shield them from danger.  Of course in the end, after the raven has done its deed, it will be up to us to decide whether to accept  the advice, possibly risking one’s own life for something that we hope will bring us happiness.
