My piece, Mujer Mia, is inspired by the tropical song Mujer mia by Joe Bataan. The song is about a woman leaving “home", meaning the heart of the writer. The lyric, "Linda Mujer, tu sabes bien que te queiro, y por tu amor yo si que muero”  translates to, “ beautiful woman, you know I love you, and for your love I do die” Bataan expresses the lyrics with a psychedelic ring to it. "si yo te doy calor, yo soy tu corazon, yo soy el que te quiero", which translates to “ if I give you heat, I am your heart, I'm the one who loves you.” The song itself is beautifully structured, and you could hear the sorrow and colors through to your ears which I have done my best to describe with this painting.
