My work depicts special events that happened throughout my life. I like to capture objects that look beautiful and meaningful to me, and the way they can express the emotions I have during that time.
On special occasions people tend to take many photos to remember what happened that day, yet they will eventually forget unless they see the same photos often. Hence, I like to draw or paint objects that represent the emotions and feelings I have for the special event in my life. Therefore I will always remember what happened. When I see the painting and again recall those feelings I had at that time. This leads to my piece “18”. The painting is about my eighteenth birthday and turning into an adult that day. I drew things representing that day and the feelings I felt that day. I find this piece important because it will always remind me of the emotions I had on my eighteenth birthday and I will never forget what happened that day.
