My piece depicts the diving experience off the coast of Panama. It highlights the shipwreck I explored that was covered in sea life.

I’ve always been fond of the ocean and grew up loving to paint the life around me, so when I got SCUBA certified over the summer before my senior year I knew I wanted to paint all the photos I had collected on my trip.

The painting displays how when diving you become a part of the ocean, fish swimming around you as if you belonged there, a feeling I never want to forget. The swaying from waves and sound of the bubbles leaving my regulator were a relief from any stresses felt on the surface. Nature has always calmed me but exploring the ocean was a completely new feeling I gained while diving off the coast of Panama, and was my inspiration when creating this piece.
