My name is Mersais Castillo, I am a senior in High School and am enrolled in AP Art and Design, I am investigating the theme of "Portraying Women In Their Traditional Style with Their Cultures Animal". I am in love with the variety and unique aspect of every women around the world and how they are all beautiful but all different. Women embracing their culture and displaying it proudly is what I adore. In these portraits, I try to also incorporate their region’s traditional artwork. In this piece, "Hyena's Glare", I used an acrylic medium to sculpt jewelry such as Maang Tikkas, layered gold to create layered necklaces, and golden face coverings, all common in middle eastern culture.
