These past years of my life have been quite the ride. While navigating my journey, I’ve done my best to search for a balance between the positive and negative aspects of life. Constant trials and errors have truly helped me learn more about myself. Whether painting pictures or writing songs, through the arts, I have found my comfort. This escape helps me turn around the negative strands of life and create a new existence that is positive. Being swallowed by the darkness takes a toll on your way of life, but once the hidden spark of light is discovered, your path will continue once again.
My piece, "Capturing The Light," shows my hands reaching out in the darkness toward a match held by my future self. It represents the idea that, while darkness may feel overwhelming, perseverance and the spark of our inner flame can guide us forward. The match held by my future self symbolizes the courage that leads the way, allowing my current self to move forward and trust my own guidance.
