Creating artwork has always been an escape for me, something creative and free in a linear world. My favorite mediums of choice are graphite and watercolor, but for this piece I felt as though acrylic paint would be best to convey what I wanted to portray.
My self-portrait represents my personal connection to the message conveyed in the piece. Which is the idea that we all have a unique perspective and that our individual experiences shape our understanding of the world. The blending of the two faces also speaks to the concept that we all have different sides to ourselves, and that by understanding and embracing these aspects, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and others.
The flowers in the painting symbolize the beauty and fragility of life, and serve as a reminder that we are all connected and that our actions have an impact on those around us. This painting is a reminder to cherish and protect the beauty in our lives and to always strive for self-discovery and growth.
In addition to the themes of perspective, self-discovery and growth, this painting also holds a deeply personal connection for me. The use of flowers was inspired by my own memories and experiences. Flowers have always held a special meaning for me, representing life unfolding in beautiful ways. The act of painting these flowers is a way for me to pay homage to the memories and experiences that have shaped who I am and to express gratitude for the beauty that surrounds us.
